Our client is a Norther Europe, modern construction organization operating as a general contractor for road infrastructure. The company is characterized by very dynamic growth and development. Over the past dozen years, it has become a leader and the largest company in the industry in its home country, holding a significant market share in road infrastructure construction and maintenance. Currently, due to the company’s entry into the Polish market, we are seeking a candidate for a position:

Head of Sales

Tasks
  • Lead the function, including conducting market analyses, building and developing the sales team
  • Achieve the designated country-level sales turnover and margin targets
  • Co-ordinate the preparation and submitting of the bids – manage bids from €50-100 MEUR in value
  • Drive proactive sales initiatives, and in coordination with country business unit project managers, negotiate terms with clients
  • Lead competitive position analyses, including mapping market ambitions and capacity
  • Analyze (un)successful bids to identify improvement areas
  • Acting as key member of the Country leadership team and ensuring profitable and sustainable growth of the organization
  • In collaboration with business units, build and maintain relationships with partners, key suppliers and sub-contractors
  • Work closely with PL country and group units to establish a long-term competence pipeline aligned with market needs
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and facilitate knowledge sharing within the Group
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience from public/private sector in leadership roles related to the bidding and tenders, preferably within a rapid growth volumes and/or organizations
  • Experience from working within road construction or infrastructure industry
  • A bachelors / master’s degree in road construction / civil engineering; an additional business or management degree would be a plus
  • Fluent command of English
  • Very good understanding and hands-on experience with managing at least 50+ MEUR construction projects bidding and tender process, both technical, legal and operational
  • Strategic planning and operational delivery experience in a dynamic and competitive construction projects environment
  • Very strong communication skills and experience working in an international team, preferably with reporting lines to headquarters in another country
  • Sustainability mindset and proven experience in integrating sustainability into business and technical decisions
