Sourcing Manager (global projects)

Our Client is part of an international organization – a global, multi-industry manufacturer with over 100 years of history and operations worldwide. The group employs appr. 10.000 people and its turnover exceeds $3 BLN.
The company in Poland operates in two production sites and employs approximately 700 people. Its products and solutions are used across multiple sectors, particularly in the railway, machinery, and heavy industries. The company has received several awards recognizing its ethical business practices toward both employees and partners.
We are currently looking for a candidate for the position of:

Sourcing Manager (global projects)

Location: Eastern surroundings of Rzeszów

Tasks
  • Create and implement sourcing strategies for direct products and services to improve cost-efficiency and performance
  • Lead global sourcing initiatives with an annual spend responsibility of approximately $20M
  • Lead and support the operational purchasing team – ensure smooth transition from strategic sourcing to tactical buying teams
  • Drive sourcing activities in LCR/BCR regions (especially China and India)
  • Lead supplier selection and negotiation for new business and project bids
  • Identify and realize cost-saving opportunities through such initiatives as value analysis and value engineering
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders (such as sales, production, engineering, R&D, quality and project management) to align sourcing with operational needs
  • Support vendor-managed inventory and efficient purchase order execution
  • Maintain up-to-date market knowledge and drive best procurement practices
Requirements
  • Education: BS Degree in Business or Engineering, MBA preferred
  • Strategic Sourcing with 3+ years leading global initiatives, with special focus on sourcing from low-cost countries (e.g. China and India)
  • Desired experience in manufacturing industry
  • Business skills including leadership ability, innovative thinking, global strategy, communications and change management
  • Understanding of legal issues referring to contracts
  • Technical knowledge, preferably including familiarity with castings, forgings, machining
  • Fluent command of Polish and English
