Procurement Manager

Our customer is an international manufacturer offering consumer goods made of chemical raw materials. One of its production plants employing nearly 1000 people is located in Poland. The factory is continuously developing - several hundred new SKUs are launched every year. The company has recently introduced a 2-years investment plan which will result in the World biggest factory in its the industry in terms of production capacity. Due to that plan we are looking for an experienced professional for the below position:

Procurement Manager

Location: Southern Greater Poland District, appr. 1h drive North from Wroclaw or 1h drive South from Poznań

Tasks
  • Manage strategic purchasing policy of raw materials, supporting materials (e.g. packaging) and end products
  • Building good relationships with different suppliers and especially raw material suppliers in Eastern Europe (notably: Poland, Russia, Ukraine and other CEE countries)
  • Negotiations with suppliers about price and delivery conditions
  • Searching for alternative raw materials and suppliers
  • Analyzing market trends and translate these to the purchasing policy
  • The availability and stock control of raw materials
  • Cooperation with other departments like R&D, production , quality control, finance and marketing
  • Managing purchasing/procurement team in Poland (appr. 5 FTE)
  • Supporting suppliers’ audits
Requirements
  • Experience on a similar position in a manufacturing company
  • Experience in purchasing for production gained in high standards companies
  • Manufacturing and financial understanding (technological process calculations, costs analysis, etc.)
  • Good English language in speaking and writing + Russian as “nice to have”
  • University Degree, preferably in engineering or economics
  • Strong analytical / strategic thinking skills
  • Judgement and vision
