Engineering Expert of Efficiency Improvement

Our customer is an international FMCG manufacturer with over 100 years’ history. The company is producing various plastics related goods. One of its production plants employing nearly 1000 people is located in Poland. The factory is continuously developing - several hundred new SKUs are launched every year. The company has recently introduced an investment plan which resulted in the World biggest factory in its industry in terms of production capacity. Due to that investment we are looking for an experienced professional for the below position:

Engineering Expert of Efficiency Improvement

Location: Greater Poland District, appr. 80 km south from Poznań (1,5h drive), 90km north from Wrocław (1h drive)

Tasks
  • Leads various projects aimed to increase OEE, mainly through engineering or maintenance related improvements – in the 1st year the job will be more focused on current issues resulting from recent transfer (technical problem solving) and after a yeas the job will turn more into continuous improvement mode (identification of potential future problems, building engineering awareness among production operators, etc.)
  • Carries out root cause analyses of machinery failures resulting in breakdowns, poor quality or machinery efficiency lower than expected
  • Initiate and implement technical solutions that will preferably bring permanent improvements in efficiency – new standards (lesson learned projects)
  • Introduces or improves standard reporting of maintenance specialists (how we report issues)
  • Introduces or improves standard operating procedures of maintenance specialists (how we carry out repairs)
  • Initiates projects of machinery improvements caried out by engineering dept. – these might small technical amendments or bigger investment increasing the overall level of automation
  • Suggests division of operations in maintenance into autonomous maintenance (done production operators) and operations restricted to maintenance dept.
  • Analyses current efficiency indices and possibly introduce new ones (e.g. MTTR, MTBF)
  • Trains either maintenance specialists or production operators in field of preventive of predictive maintenance
  • Enhances and promotes TPM culture
Requirements
  • Experience on a similar position (maintenance or technical continuous improvement or process engineering) in a high quality standard company with automated production (various machines and complex processes)
  • Proven experience and achievements in efficiency improvement projects
  • Technical knowledge covering mainly mechanical and automation issues referring to different machines
  • Good organizational skills (coordination of projects)
  • Dynamism and proactive approach
  • Financial understandings, calculations, costs analysis
  • English language command, min. intermediate / B1
  • Technical University Degree
