Engineering Manager

Our client is a large manufacturer of food consumer goods supplying the leading retailers in 100 countries throughout the world. The company has a long (several hundred years) tradition and nowadays is a part of a food corporation with turnover exceeding $15bn, employing over 100K people worldwide. One of the production plants is located in Poland, near Poznań. The site, despite its high level of automation, employs nearly 500 people. The production process is multilevel and complex in terms of machinery applied and it requires a substantial number of machines changeovers. The company has successfully implemented autonomous maintenance in the production plant. We are searching for a candidate for a senior managerial position reporting to the plant director:

Engineering Manager

Location: eastern area of Poznań

Tasks
  • Overall responsibility of all technical issues referring to machinery, internal transport (conveyors, robots, forklifts, etc.) and the facility (building, media installation)
  • Analyse equipment performance and introduce projects aimed to fulfil rising manufacturing needs – insight that goes behind standard maintenance (OEE, MTTR, MTBF) but takes into consideration overall manufacturing and market requirements (e.g. products availability and offer diversity)
  • Supervise special projects, such as: further automation, production line transfers, investments, etc.
  • Develop lean problem solving strategy and continuous improvement with special focus on TPM
  • Monitor the budget including CAPEX
  • Support and develop team of appr. 20 people (mostly engineers, as the company has already implemented full-blown  autonomous maintenance)
Requirements
  • Experience on a similar position (technical, maintenance manager) in an international environment
  • University engineering degree
  • Fluent English and Polish
  • Professional background gained in a food industry or other industrialized production companies with automated production systems
  • Lean and TPM practical knowledge
  • Experience in developing a production facility (machine installations, project management)
  • Preferably experience and knowledge of food safety (HACCP, BRC, etc)
